STATEMENT
I steep myself in the spiritual ambience of the universe through my extensive travels to great mountains and rivers. I view great paintings of the ancient and the contemporary; Chinese and foreign; conscientiously learning and absorbing. I am sensitive to my own insight; assiduous in my creative efforts; painting from my heart and phrasing my own idiom.
Regarding landscape painting, be it done in meticulous or free style, one has to acquire a deep understanding of the profound mystery of Nature to be able to capture the spiritual vitality and ethos of landscape, thus achieving rich substance and harmonious beauty in one's paintings.
The creation of art forbids following of trend, or drifting with the tide. Art must embody ideas, individuality, novelty, as well as national characteristics and spirit of the times.
